The Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC) is committed to ensuring that Florida's consumers receive essential services like electric, natural gas, telephone, water, and wastewater in a safe, reasonable, and reliable manner. The FPSC exercises regulatory authority over utilities in areas such as rate base/economic regulation, competitive market oversight, and monitoring of safety, reliability, and service. The Division of Accounting and Finance is instrumental in determining the rates charged by Florida’s investor-owned electric, natural gas, and water and wastewater utility companies. This involves analyzing filings, expert testimony, developing interrogatories, holding customer meetings, and presenting recommendations to the Commission regarding utility profit margins. This specific role involves direct supervision of public utility analysts in the Cost Recovery Section of the Bureau of Finance, Tax and Cost Recovery. The primary duty is to spend the majority of time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, and planning and directing their work.
