Requirements

  • Must be detailed oriented, a team-player, good communicator and self-starter with an outgoing personality.
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university
  • Experience in ticketing, marketing, customer service
  • A minimum of two years of related experience in hospitality.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office computer programs
  • Experience and willingness to learn any special event programs.
  • Ability to write business correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Must be able to communicate with confidence and deal with groups of diverse individuals.
  • A Kentucky Horse Racing Authority License is required for all track workers.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for learning and accurately using the ticketing software, currently Etix, to sell tickets both internally and externally.
  • Assist the Public Ticketing Manager with set-up of venues for each race meet.
  • All year, field calls and e-mails regarding group reservations during the Keeneland race meets.
  • Provide courteous and accurate information, representing the Keeneland brand to these groups.
  • Work with the Public Ticketing Manager to create a group sales strategy with the goal of maximizing revenue and creating an efficient, customer-friendly process.
  • Attend various networking events and build relationships with groups like VisitLex to market the group sales program.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Department and Director of Events to ensure that any printed or digital materials related to the group sales program are accurate.
  • Ensure that information about group sales is displayed on the website accurately and timely.
  • Prepare for and manage the Group Reservation Request Process, collaborating with the Director of Events and Public Ticketing Manager.
  • Assist with the public on-sale process. Must be available to work each on-sale day to assist patrons.
  • Assist with Public Will Call during the live meet to ensure efficient delivery of tickets and a high level of professional and courteous service.
  • Assist with daily public ticketing operations during the live meet.
  • Support all Welcome Center full-time and seasonal staff with the ticketing system to accurately sell, print, and send tickets to patrons as well as provide general customer service.
  • Contribute to a work environment that encourages teamwork and respect for coworkers.
  • Assistance with growing and enhancing the Patron Operations Department.
