About The Position

The Public Space Houseperson is responsible for maintaining high standards in all assigned lobby areas, public restrooms, classrooms, offices, fitness center, retail outlets, and kitchen cleaning duties as necessary. This position will also perform cup walks requested for classrooms on a daily basis. The Public Space Houseperson will also maintain complete knowledge of correct use of equipment.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Ability to stand during entire shift.
Employees must at all times be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests and fellow employees.

Responsibilities

Maintain high standards in all assigned lobby areas, public restrooms, classrooms, offices, fitness center, retail outlets, and kitchen cleaning duties as necessary.
Perform cup walks requested for classrooms on a daily basis.
Maintain complete knowledge of correct use of equipment.
Use proper two-way radio etiquette when communicating with other employees; respond to all calls in a timely manner.
Practice safe work habits to ensure safety to guests, fellow employees and self.
Handle items for "Lost and Found" according to the center standards.
Turn in all keys and assignment sheets to the Housekeeping Office at the end of the shift.
Report maintenance issues by dialing 0 or to Housekeeping Supervisor/Manager.
Be familiar with correct bathroom, office, classroom, furniture and kitchen cleaning procedures.
Deliver supplies to assigned sections, as necessary.
Collect all recyclables and trash, as needed.
Collect all trash from public areas and back of the house and take to/dispose in outside trash dumpsters, per center procedures, at the end of shift.
Vacuum guest corridors; sweep, mop, scrub, wax and polish hard floors.
Keep hallways, public areas and closets neat and organized; arranging furniture per standard set up.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in public restrooms.
Adhere to the schedule and assigned checklist for project cleaning of public areas.
Maintain the stairwells to center standards.
Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
