About The Position
The Public Services Technician-Traffic position involves making and installing traffic signs, maintaining inventory, applying pavement markings, and assisting with traffic control for construction projects and special events. The role also includes responding to urgent traffic calls, maintaining traffic signals, and performing snow removal operations.
Requirements
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of the ninth-grade.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Makes and installing traffic signs
- Maintains inventory of parts and sign material and marking materials
- Applies pavement marking materials
- Assists during construction projects in implementing traffic detours
- Assists other City departments during special events such as Apple Blossom with traffic control
- Responds to urgent traffic related calls whenever necessary
- Assists with maintaining traffic signals
- Performs snow removal operations, i.e., chemical spreading, plowing, shoveling, scraping, etc.
