About The Position

Under supervision performs administrative work of moderate difficulty; performs related work as assigned. This position involves coordinating and scheduling specialized departmental functions, meetings, and travel, overseeing administrative unit's record management systems and databases, and serving as lead staff. It may involve supervising employees, providing training, and assisting with special projects. The role requires preparing and maintaining statistical and administrative reports, gathering information for budgetary purposes, and creating, processing, and distributing confidential documents. Additionally, it involves communicating with other departments, agencies, and the public, composing correspondence, researching vendors, and potentially researching grants and taking meeting minutes. Essential functions include sitting, walking, standing, crouching, stooping, kneeling, reaching, bending, and crawling for filing; working with and around others; dealing with interruptions; repetitive motion for computer work, filing, and copying; near vision acuity for computer work and reading documents; hearing and speech for ordinary conversation; and finger dexterity and touch for typing.

Requirements

  • Four years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical experience
  • Associate’s degree and three years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical experience
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of progressively responsible administrative or clerical experience
  • Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
