Requirements

  • Requires Professional Educator License with a General Administrative Endorsement
  • Requires three (3) years of progressively responsible professional teaching experience

Nice To Haves

  • Prefers at least three (3) years of administrative experience planning and directing an educational program
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of administrative experience developing, implementing, maintaining, and evaluating an educational program along with recommending improvements
  • Prefers at least five (5) years of professional educational experience
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience as a full line supervisor
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience developing, analyzing, and monthly tracking of reports for an educational program
  • Prefers working knowledge of educational programs in a correctional setting
  • Prefers working knowledge of federal and state educational laws
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience managing and working within a budget

Responsibilities

  • Plans and directs educational program including elementary/secondary education, vocational programs, special education, curriculum approval, work/shift assignments, etc
  • Serves as full-line supervisor
  • Monitors preparation/submittal of reports required by the Office of Adult Education and Vocational Services, facility requests for data, State Board of Education, College Contracts, Affirmative Action, Personnel, etc
  • Prepares and monitors budgetary needs and expenditures
  • Travels to attend/participate in staff meetings, workshops, other developmental programs designed to improve/expand educational offerings
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the dutiesnumerated above
