About The Position

The Business Administrator position at Graham Correctional Center serves as the lead business professional at a facility with a staff of over 480 full-time employees and is responsible for managing an annual operating budget of approximately $58 million. As the Business Office Supervisor, the Business Administrator must lead a subordinate staff of seventeen plus employees in the dedicated roles of accounting, payroll, warehousing, commissary and inventory management. The ideal candidate will be able to help organize operations at a large facility with a substantial budget while maintaining strict security protocols. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
  • Requires prior experience equivalent to three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in fiscal operations for a public or business organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefers at least three (3) years of experience performing full range of fiscal functions within a large organization.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of supervisory experience.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of experience utilizing automated financial systems.
  • Prefers a bachelors' Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Finance, Economics or Accounting.
  • Prefers experience managing a multi-million-dollar budget for a large organization.
  • Prefers at least three (3) years of experience with contract establishment, contract monitoring, and procurement processes.
  • Prefers more than three (3) years of experience with automated financial systems.
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of experience in property control and inventory management.
  • Prefers at least six (6) months of experience with BidBuy or other procurement software.
  • Prefers experience interpreting collective bargaining contracts and supervising union covered employees.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Business Administrator.
  • Serves as full-line supervisor.
  • Administers, implements, and directs accounting functions.
  • Administers, implements, and monitors purchasing functions.
  • Remains up-to-date and in compliance with applicable standards of Commission on Accreditation, Administrative Regulations and Directives, Procedures Manual, Statewide Accounting Management System Manual and Local Business Procedure Manual.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
