About The Position

Devereux - Massachusetts serves students with various complex psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, including but not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorder. Devereux's Fentress program serves males 12-21 with various psychological and behavioral disorders. With 1 staff to 4 students ratio, this program is focused on increasing independence and preparing individuals to move on from Devereux. As a Public School Professional, you will be responsible for the safety and security of all youth as assigned by providing direct supervision. You will provide and ensure therapeutic interventions in a compassionate and safe environment. You will engage with youth in a meaningful and positive manner, teaching and prompting appropriate behaviors, and providing positive reinforcement for the same. You will teach and assist with Activities of Daily (ADL) Living Skills. You will possess adequate organizational and communication skills needed to complete required documentation, such as progress notes and incident reports.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to attend a 2-week paid orientation, Monday to Friday, 8AM to 4PM, in Rutland, MA.
  • Must be MAPS certified, or able to obtain certification within 90 days of employment if going to a Group Home setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
  • Previous experience working with individuals under 21 with psychological, emotional, and behavioral disorders, and/or autism spectrum disorders preferred.
