Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • ICS 100 & ICS 200 certificate within 30 days of hire
  • International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety within 6 months of hire
  • Valid Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • 3 plus years’ experience in security, customer service or related field within hospital setting.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for monitoring visitors and assisting with the arrival and departure of guests.
  • Patrol the facility and grounds, monitor all activity in and out of the hospital.
  • Respond efficiently and effectively to fire drills, external and internal disasters and or drills, trauma alerts, emergency response codes etc.
  • Manage verbal or physical aggressive situations without injury to patients and staff, using verbal intervention/de-escalation skills, remain calm, exercising judgement, and avoiding unnecessary physical force and abusive language.
  • Debrief daily with your manager or other security personnel about what you have observed on your rounds.
  • Secures premises and personnel by patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment, and access points.
  • Will be part of the Emergency Management Plans Response team and respond when necessary.
  • Responsible for maintaining confidentiality and discretion when handling private information.
  • Required to effectively manage agitated or aggressive patient or visitors.
  • Ability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Attend staff meetings as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
