About The Position

Maintains a safe and secure environment for college students, faculty, staff and visitors by patrolling the campus(es) to prevent crime, protecting life and property, preserving peace, and assisting law enforcement officers in their investigations of offenses at the College.

Requirements

• Vocational or technical school beyond High School/GED equivalent and at least one year of security guard or law enforcement experience, OR Associate’s degree in criminal justice or law enforcement.
• Current Florida Class D security license.
• Current CPR and first aid certification.
• Current Florida driver’s license.
• CPR Certification must be obtained within first 30 days of employment if candidate is not certified at the time of hire.
• Successful completion of a Level II criminal background check, which includes fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Patrols and checks campus buildings.
• Patrols parking lots and grounds.
• Unlocks and secures buildings, classrooms and offices.
• Sets various alarms in buildings.
• Enforces parking and traffic regulations.
• Prepares reports.
• Assists students, visitors and College personnel.
• Performs other similar and related duties as required; including administering first aid and CPR, and monitoring CCTV.
• May provide supervision for contractual security, etc.
