We are seeking a dedicated Public Safety Officer to join our Public Safety Department. Reporting to the VP, Patient Experience and Engagement, you will maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff within the hospital premises.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Must have full working knowledge of security principles and practices
Must have excellent communications skills

Nice To Haves

PERC Card preferred
One or more years of security guard/officer training or experience preferred
Full working knowledge of hospital safety procedures preferred
Basic knowledge of body mechanics and transportation procedures preferred
Full working knowledge of city boundaries and locations preferred

Responsibilities

Monitor and patrol the facility to prevent and respond to incidents immediately
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
Assist in the vehicular transportation of elderly and handicapped patients to and from Loretto Hospital or other designated locations
Monitor surveillance systems
Conduct regular safety inspections
Control traffic inside and outside building
Address any security concerns or emergencies promptly and effectively
Investigate and report any unusual incidents and maintain a 24-hour log of all such incidents
Perform related public safety duties as assigned
Other duties as assigned
Understands and adheres to Loretto Hospital’s compliance standards as they appear in the Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Hospital regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
