We are seeking a dedicated Public Safety Officer to join our Public Safety Department. Reporting to the VP, Patient Experience and Engagement, you will maintain a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff within the hospital premises.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have full working knowledge of security principles and practices
  • Must have excellent communications skills

Nice To Haves

  • PERC Card preferred
  • One or more years of security guard/officer training or experience preferred
  • Full working knowledge of hospital safety procedures preferred
  • Basic knowledge of body mechanics and transportation procedures preferred
  • Full working knowledge of city boundaries and locations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and patrol the facility to prevent and respond to incidents immediately
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures
  • Assist in the vehicular transportation of elderly and handicapped patients to and from Loretto Hospital or other designated locations
  • Monitor surveillance systems
  • Conduct regular safety inspections
  • Control traffic inside and outside building
  • Address any security concerns or emergencies promptly and effectively
  • Investigate and report any unusual incidents and maintain a 24-hour log of all such incidents
  • Perform related public safety duties as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Understands and adheres to Loretto Hospital’s compliance standards as they appear in the Compliance Policy, Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest Policy.
  • Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Hospital regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
