About The Position

Ohio Wesleyan University is seeking a Full-Time Public Safety Officer for its Department of Public Safety. This is a 40-hour-per-week position with opportunities for overtime and special event pay. As a non-sworn Public Safety Officer, you will be part of a small team with significant responsibilities, including taking action when unsafe behaviors are observed and responding to emergency situations. The role involves handling calls across campus, deterring crime, and building relationships within the university community. Success requires making community members feel safe, supported, and treated with respect. The position pays $20.00 per hour with a $1.50 per hour shift differential for third-shift work. This role may appeal to individuals who prefer non-traditional work schedules, as most shifts involve evening or overnight hours and may include weekends.

Requirements

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Possess a valid Ohio driver's license
  • Able to pass a background investigation
