This role focuses on preventing workplace accidents and promotes health and safety awareness and education to individuals within the organization. In addition, this role focuses on performing Associate Safety related duties. It is an organizational support or service role operating in a "hands on" environment, where the majority of time is spent in the delivery of support services or activities, typically under supervision. This is an entry-level role that typically requires little to no prior knowledge or experience, with routine work that follows standard procedures, is closely supervised, and communicates information that requires little explanation or interpretation. The Public Safety Officer is responsible for the day-to-day protection and security of hospital assets and information, as well as the safety of all persons on hospital property. This includes conducting proactive patrols, responding to crisis situations, and documenting incidents. The role contributes to maintaining a safe and secure hospital environment, providing customer service, responding to emergencies, conducting security patrols, and fostering a culture of safety.
