About The Position

The Savannah Convention Center (SCC) is seeking a part-time Public Safety Officer to join their team. This role is responsible for implementing security policies and procedures under the direction of management. Duties include patrolling the facility, completing reports, and responding to emergencies. The ideal candidate is dependable, customer-focused, and committed to quality work aligned with the organization's core values.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
High degree of integrity and compliance
Thoroughness in task approach, follow-up & completion
Self-awareness
Crowd management skills
Ability to prioritize tasks & to manage workload using own initiative
Ability to multi-task & work under pressure with limited resources
Detail oriented
Assess, weigh and manage risk in the face of uncertainty
Ability to work an irregular work schedule as required to perform duties and responsibilities

Nice To Haves

Valid Georgia Driver's License
Customer Service/ Relations experience
Previous work experience as a Public Safety Officer or relevant position
Report writing skills
Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols

Responsibilities

Complete shift assignments as required in accordance with established guidelines
Patrol the interior, exterior and dock areas of the campus. Patrolling may include foot beat, bike patrol, and/or motorized cart
Complete written incident reports and departmental documents.
Perform crowd management
Perform public safety officer duties, crime prevention and safety inspections
Respond to emergency situations
Provide public safety
Respond and investigate concerns, complaints or calls for service
Provide safety escorts
Serve as a point of information to the public
Perform other duties, functions, special projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Assistant Public Safety Manager and/or Senior Public Safety Manager.
