About The Position

Provides a crime prevention and life-safety presence on campus by observing and reporting. Facilitates use of the campus by opening, closing and monitoring control of NSU property. Investigates campus incidents and occurrences. Communicates and coordinates with the NSU community the crime prevention goals of the Public Safety Department through personal interaction and other methodologies.

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to work any shift, including weekends and holidays.
  • Have or obtain current and valid Florida Driver's License with no more than 3 points.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Previous customer service experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Parking enforcement specialist certification.
  • Previous customer service, public safety, security, or police experience.
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

  • Detects and responds to safety hazards to ensure safety of employees and visitors.
  • Provides physical inspections and investigation on campus to ensure a safe environment.
  • Conducts security and safety audits to ensure that hazards and dangers are identified.
  • Conducts accident and injury investigations on campus to ensure proper record keeping of incidents.
  • Completes activity logs, incident reports to ensure proper record keeping of incidents.
  • Coordinates with local law enforcement concerning the investigation of incidents, crimes, and losses.
  • Conducts fire system inspections and emergency response drills.
  • Provides for locking and unlocking access control for campus buildings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
