About The Position

The Ohio Narcotics Intelligence Center (ONIC) is seeking a Public Safety Intelligence Analyst to provide investigative support through the extraction and analysis of electronic devices, criminal case support, trend analysis, cryptocurrency tracing, and dark web investigations. This role involves developing research tools and methods, analyzing databases and reports, preparing intelligence products, coordinating information, and providing operational guidance to public safety partners.

Requirements

  • 36 months of experience conducting research & writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical research techniques.
  • Completion of undergraduate core program in homeland security, political science, criminal justice, emergency management, public health, international affairs or related field; AND 12 months of experience conducting research & writing reports using operational, mathematical, analytical &/or statistical research techniques.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment.
  • Must obtain LEADS certification and renew biannually.
  • Must be able to obtain & maintain secret level federal security clearance.
  • Requires valid driver's license to operate state-owned vehicle or must be able to provide own transportation.
  • A BCI and FBI fingerprint check, a background check, including a polygraph examination, may be required.
  • A comparative analysis and/or drug-test may be a requirement of the hiring process.
  • Subject to random drug & alcohol testing in accordance with DPS 501.24.

Responsibilities

  • Develop proper research tools, methods & intelligence request forms to appropriately accommodate intelligence information.
  • Identify & analyze informational databases, spreadsheets & reports allowing information to be easily exchanged & understood.
  • Prepare intelligence reports, products, & briefings for presentation to all public safety partners.
  • Coordinate interstate & intrastate information.
  • Provide operational guidance to partners.
