The Public Safety Dispatcher serves as the primary communications link for the Department of Public Safety by receiving emergency and non-emergency calls for service, dispatching security officers and peace officers, monitoring alarms and surveillance systems, maintaining communication with field personnel, and coordinating responses with local emergency services when appropriate. This position requires sound judgment, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Work is performed in a communications center operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
