About The Position

This is a temporary position where the individual will work at the Main Entrance, operate dispatch, and greet visitors. The role requires the ability to work assigned shifts, which may include day, evening, night, weekend, or holiday hours. Responsibilities include receiving, dispatching, and logging radio traffic, as well as handling emergency and non-emergency phone calls. The specialist will also monitor fire and security alarms and cameras, greet visitors, answer questions, provide directions, and ensure field officers are informed of assignments.

Requirements

• Not a student role.
• Able to work assigned shifts, which may include day, evening, night, weekend, or holiday shift hours.
• Communication and customer service skills; proficient in phone etiquette.
• Multi-tasking skills under pressure while maintaining a professional and calm appearance and atmosphere.
• High school graduate or GED.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and Web-based applications.
• Speedy and accurate keyboarding skills.
• Must be a born-again Christian who has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Must agree with and affirm the Bob Jones University creed, mission, and core biblical doctrines.
• Expected to maintain a conservative lifestyle and support Bob Jones University’s positions on various issues.
• Must be an active member of a local Bible believing church which holds orthodox theology.
• Committed to providing students an excellent, world-class education from a biblical worldview.

Responsibilities

• Work at the Main Entrance, operate dispatch, and greet visitors.
• Receive, dispatch, and log radio traffic on multiple radio frequencies.
• Receive, dispatch, and log emergency and non-emergency phone calls at the Main Entrance.
• Monitor fire and security alarms and cameras, dispatch, and log all alarms received.
• Greet visitors to the campus, answer questions, and provide directions.
• Follow established assignment schedule, ensure field officers are informed, and log all assignments completed.
• May obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
• Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
