About The Position

The Public Safety Administrative Manager provides essential administrative leadership and operational support to the Senior Director of Public Safety while serving as a primary point of contact for students, faculty, staff, parents, and visitors. This position is primarily office-based and customer service focused, ensuring smooth daily operations of the Public Safety Office.

  • Experience handling confidential information and sensitive situations.
  • Familiarity with database systems, access control systems, or security-related software is beneficial.
  • Administrative experience in public safety, higher education, law enforcement, security, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage administrative operations for the Public Safety Department, including correspondence, document management, scheduling, and calendar coordination for the Senior Director of Public Safety.
  • Provide high-level customer service to students, parents, faculty, staff, vendors, and visitors in person, by phone, and electronically.
  • Communicate with on-duty officers using a two-way radio system and assist with information relay as needed.
  • Support the Senior Director of Public Safety with communications involving campus departments, parents, students, vendors, and external partners.
  • Serve as the Clery Act Coordinator, overseeing compliance, maintaining required documentation, and coordinating with law enforcement agencies nationwide.
  • Maintain and manage the campus-wide emergency alert system.
  • Act as administrator for RS2 and Johnson Controls electronic access systems.
  • Create and issue ID cards for students, faculty, and staff; manage electronic access permissions and troubleshoot access issues.
  • Monitor fire protection alarms and manage door access systems during assigned shifts.
  • Oversee CCTV monitoring and manage recorded video evidence, including secure storage and authorized distribution.
  • Process and securely manage lost and found items.
  • Coordinate fine appeal meetings and notify involved parties of outcomes.
  • Prepare written reports related to students experiencing crises.
  • Administer vehicle registration for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Track vendor proximity card usage and manage related fines.
  • Enter daily citations into the department records management system, maintain accurate records, and communicate with students regarding citations, fines, appeals, and related Public Safety matters.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by department leadership to support campus safety and operations.
