About The Position

The Public Relations Manager will lead efforts to enhance and maintain the organization's image, reputation, and relationships with key stakeholders. The role is critical in fostering communication and promoting the mission of the organization, which works with governments, organizations, and individuals to address challenges facing families, communities, and nations. The PR Manager will create and execute strategic communication initiatives that amplify the organization’s impact and foster positive engagement with partners and the public.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in public relations, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Passion for the mission of the organization and the ability to communicate it effectively.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the non-profit sector or with organizations working on social impact is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive public relations strategies that align with the organization's mission and goals, ensuring maximum visibility and support from key stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local, national, and international media outlets. Write press releases, pitch story ideas, and coordinate media appearances, interviews, and press conferences to increase the organization’s media coverage.
  • Lead the creation of compelling and impactful content for press materials, newsletters, social media, and the organization's website. Ensure that messaging is consistent with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key community partners, including government officials, non-profit organizations, advocacy groups, and individuals. Represent the organization at public events and speaking engagements to build awareness and support.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for crisis communication. Develop and implement crisis management plans to safeguard the organization’s reputation and respond to any adverse publicity or events.
  • Work closely with internal teams (including leadership, program staff, and external partners) to ensure clear and effective communication with all stakeholders. Foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and information sharing.
  • Oversee the development and execution of social media strategies that increase engagement and raise awareness for the organization’s programs, events, and impact.
  • Collaborate with the event management team to promote the organization's events, fundraisers, and initiatives through media outreach, event calendars, and direct communication.
  • Create detailed reports and case studies to highlight the organization’s successes and track media coverage. Analyze the effectiveness of PR campaigns and make data-driven recommendations for future strategies.
  • Lead and manage any public relations staff or volunteers, providing mentorship and guidance to ensure consistent messaging and quality work.
