About The Position

Disney Consumer Products (DCP) brings stories and characters to life through innovative and engaging physical products and digital experiences across more than one hundred categories, from toys and t-shirts, to plush and books. The business is home to world-class teams of licensing and retail experts, artists and storytellers, including a leading retail business (The Disney Store), and the largest publisher of children’s content (Disney Publishing). As a result, we inspire imaginations around the world! As part of the DCP Communications team, you will work closely with partners across lines of business, franchises, functions, and locations. This role requires a strategic mindset, passion for collaboration, as well as excellent project management skills. As a DCP Intern, you will support the Consumer Products business across Disney’s brands, including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Lucasfilm, National Geographic supporting The Disney Store and Disney Publishing.

Requirements

  • Previous reporting/writing/editing experience with a student or professional publication in print, television, or online media
  • Proficiency with Associated Press writing style
  • Demonstrated discretion when handling confidential information
  • Strong proficiency in developing Keynote decks and content
  • Ability to adapt, manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment, and build strong working relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills crucial to effective interaction with all levels of the organization including senior-level executives and their assistants

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in journalism, writing, media relations, or with a PR agency
  • Experience identifying problems and developing creative solutions

Responsibilities

  • Help execute global integrated communications plans for major franchise initiatives and global campaigns that deliver on business goals and help drive buzz and coverage
  • Research and report out media trends and update press databases
  • Draft, review & proof press materials including press releases, pitches, and media alerts
  • Provide overall support for a variety of DCP Communications goals and objectives
  • Act as a Brand Ambassador and embody the Disney culture and values in all aspects of your work
