About The Position

The contractor shall provide services in support of the Office of Undersecretary for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs, National Museum of American Diplomacy (R/PPR/NMAD). This role involves facilitating simulations, developing web content, producing virtual events, collaborating on public programming, assisting with museum events and hosting groups, tracking metrics, drafting promotional materials, developing new educational content, and traveling for outreach.

Requirements

Proven track record of success in conducting public programs, particularly to high school audiences
Knowledge of best practices in instructional and public engagement methods
Flexibility and adaptability
Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, international relations, history, or related fields
3-5 years of related work experience
Excellent computer skills
Excellent communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of international affairs, diplomacy, or area studies preferred

Responsibilities

Facilitate simulations with school groups or civic organizations and motivate these groups to conduct similar programs for their membership
Assist in the development of web content in support of education programs
Serve as a producer for live virtual events, giving direction to the on-air talent and relaying questions
Collaborate with the Director of Public Programs to devise content for public programming
Assist with hosting school groups and the general public in the museum space
Assist with the museum’s large events that require full office support
Track and report performance metrics for public programs
Draft promotional and outreach materials for public programs
Assist with the development of new education materials and products meant to reach high school and college students and their instructors
Travel and cultivate relationships around the country in support of the museum’s outreach mission
Other related programming duties as assigned, such as contributing to educational materials, assisting with teacher trainings, and assisting with museum events
