This role is responsible for developing publications by researching and synthesizing information, preparing and editing documents, and developing digital media content by researching and reviewing new and emerging media. The specialist will coordinate digital media content, maintain contact lists for media outlets, and develop public information and engagement programs. They will also maintain regular contact with media representatives and outlets, respond to public information inquiries and complaints, and represent the department by establishing and maintaining relationships with communication staff at other agencies, community partners, departmental managers, and media outlets. Additionally, the role involves performing specialized work that cannot be delegated to subordinate staff and supervising assigned employees.
