The Nevada Cannabis Compliance Board is seeking a Public Information Officer 2 in the Las Vegas area. This position manages the agency’s public relations and information program on a statewide basis and may require statewide travel; therefore, federally recognized identification is required. The CCB is looking for a self-starter with strong communication skills who can effectively interact with media, cannabis industry representatives, legislators, and local government entities. The Public Information Officer will use various communication platforms—such as the agency’s webpage, press releases, brochures, social media, and email—to keep licensees, legislators, and other stakeholders informed of updates related to legislation, regulations, compliance matters, and general inquiries. The role also involves building and maintaining relationships with industry organizations, legislators, state agencies, and local governments, as well as coordinating stakeholder communication, responding to public records requests, and overseeing website content. Additionally, the PIO will develop short- and long-term strategies for a rapidly evolving industry, manage budgets for public education campaigns, and monitor public engagement. Provide detailed information and include date ranges. Using modern communications equipment and social media, Public Information Officers manage the public relations and public information program for an agency on a statewide basis; write media releases, newsletters and informational brochures; produce multi-media presentations and take photographs; design, organize and maintain web platforms.
