This experienced-level public information position serves as a key communications professional for the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority-East. The role independently develops clear, accurate, and timely communications that explain the Authority's mission, operations, projects, emergency readiness, and public value. Responsibilities include media relations, news releases, public statements, executive communications, website and digital content, public education materials, events, facility tours, public-safety messaging, and emergency communications. Success in this position requires excellent writing, editing, media relations, and verbal communication skills, along with sound professional judgment and the ability to translate complex technical or operational information into language that is understandable to the public. The ideal candidate will be organized, responsive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple deadlines while working with executive leadership, technical personnel, government officials, media representatives, employees, and community stakeholders.
