About The Position

This position pays $25.00 per hour. This position will be focusing on developing an internal dashboard to support operations, program evaluations, and day to day decision making for the Weld County Mobile Health Unit (MHU). The goal is to provide program managers and leadership with a clear, practical way to see how the MHU is performing, track progress toward goals, and use data to guide planning and operations. The dashboard will be built as a living tool that evolves over time—starting with core metrics most useful to the team and expanding as priorities shift, new data become available, and staff provide feedback. Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited graduate level program related to Public Health, Applied Research, or a closely related field (examples include MPH, DrPH, PhD, or other relevant master’s or doctoral programs). This internship is intended only for a current student completing required practicum or applied learning experience hours as part of their graduate program and will run from May 11, 2026 - August 21, 2026.

Requirements

  • Applicant must be currently enrolled in an accredited graduate‑level program related to Public Health, Applied Research, or a closely related field (examples include MPH, DrPH, PhD, or other relevant master’s or doctoral programs).
  • This internship is intended for current students completing required practicum or applied learning experience hours as part of their graduate program.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Ph.D. level applied public health work in support of assigned practicum and/or capstone projects.
  • Apply public health frameworks, methods, and theory to real-world governmental public health operations.
  • Complete defined project deliverables that align with both academic requirements and departmental objectives.
  • Support public health programs through planning, implementation, evaluation, or quality improvement activities.
  • Assist with development of protocols, tools, workflows, or program materials as appropriate to assigned projects.
  • Support department initiatives that strengthen service delivery, access, efficiency, or equity.
  • Assist with data collection, management, analysis, and interpretation related to public health programs.
  • Contribute to reports, summaries, dashboards, presentations, or written products used for internal decision-making, grants, or community communication.
  • Apply ethical and confidentiality standards when handling data and sensitive information.
  • Support outreach, engagement, or collaboration with community partners and stakeholders as appropriate to project scope.
  • Assist with preparation for community meetings, outreach events, or educational activities when relevant to assigned work.
  • Coordinate practicum and capstone requirements with academic advisors and department supervisors.
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and supervision activities.
  • Demonstrate professional conduct, accountability, and adherence to County policies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
