About The Position

Under limited direction, responsible for developing, implementing and managing complex public/community health and/or human services program(s). This position oversees all day-to-day activities of public health vaccine operations. Responsibilities include providing leadership, direction and supervision, monitoring the program budget, responding to internal administrative, accountability and planning issues, conducting health and human service initiatives in collaboration with other stakeholders, researching, developing and managing grant opportunities to expand public health services, maintaining and developing policies and procedures, promoting quality improvement and assurance, and ensuring that clinical practice standards are met and in adherence with Medical Director/Health Authority standing delegation orders.

  • Graduation with a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in a field related to the job plus five (5) years of experience in a field related to the job, two (2) years of which were in a supervisory, project or program management capacity.
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver License.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements full-scale complex or multiple programs that may have both internal and external stakeholders

  • Interacts with internal and external customers
  • Investigates and responds to inquiries from the public and other departments
  • Attends meetings and conducts presentations to Boards and Commissions, City Council Committees, City Council, and other related agencies.
  • May be responsible for the full range of supervisory activities including selection, training, evaluation, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal.
