About The Position

The Department of Public Health (DPH) is recruiting for Pre-Registered Dietitians who plan, develop, implement, and evaluate community nutrition programs for targeted populations. Pre-Registered Dietitians work under close supervision while waiting to take the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics examination for registration as a Registered Dietitian. Immediate vacancies exist within the Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program. The list established from this recruitment will be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur. The department of Public Health works in partnership to promote and improve health, wellness, safety and quality of life in San Bernardino County. To achieve this goal, Public Health places a high value on strong working alliances with local community groups representing the diverse populations who live in all areas of our large County.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Nutrition, Public Health Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutrition Science, Food and Nutrition, Food Science, Nutrition and Health, Community Nutrition, Home Economics with Nutrition emphasis, or a closely related field of study.
  • Completion of all academic and supervised practice requirements to meet the eligibility requirements to take the RD examination as set forth by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Authorization to Test email received from Pearson VUE, CDR's testing agency, confirming that CDR has validated your eligibility requirements and has approved you to take the RD examination, must be submitted with the application if qualifying under option 2.

  • Applicants who are eligible to sit for the Registered Dietitian examination are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Applicants fluent in American Sign Language, Arabic, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish and/or Vietnamese are strongly encouraged to apply.
