Requirements
- Two years of professional nutrition or dietetics experience in a public health, education, social service, or closely related setting
- A master’s degree in human nutrition or a closely related field
- Must be able to perform essential job functions
Responsibilities
- Provide input and guidance to strengthen nutrition education and training programs for schools, childcare providers, and community organizations
- Develop training plans, prepare materials, and conduct sessions for new and existing Child Nutrition Program sponsors
- Interpret federal and state rules and help identify actions needed to meet compliance requirements
- Support administrative reviews by identifying non-compliance and helping sponsors create plans for improvement
- Evaluate nutrition education materials and assist in creating age-appropriate curriculum and best practices
- Help design outreach efforts to expand participation in programs such as the School Breakfast Program and Summer Meals Programs
