Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in nursing, public health, business or public administration, or related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment AND two years of experience in a clinical supervising role that include financial responsibility, compliance, accreditation, and clinical risk analysis INCLUDING a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Arizona.
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in nursing AND four years of experience in a clinical supervising role including financial responsibility, compliance, accreditation, and clinical risk analysis INCLUDING a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Arizona.

  • Valid driver license is required at time of application. Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment.
  • All positions require possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Arizona.
  • All positions require Basic life support (BLS) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CRP) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum two (2) years experience managing federal/state grants.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience with immunizations.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience with community-based work, communicable disease, or public health.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience working with underserved or minority populations.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Power Point, Word, SharePoint, and Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes the breadth of program needs and assigns/delegates personnel resources for maximum effectiveness
  • Conducts quality improvement analysis and collaborates with other Nurse Managers to assure continuity between facilities
  • Keeps current on and administers general nursing care to patients in an assigned area including hospitals, clinics, homes, and field locations and ensures quality/safety of service, including immunizations/vaccines/labs
  • Develops and implements specialized public health nursing programs in collaboration with the Deputy Division Managers in alignment with the department strategic plan
  • Collects data, compiles statistical information, and prepares records and reports for use in program planning and evaluation, and in health-related surveys and studies
  • Reviews risk management issues affecting patient care and collaborates with other division leaders on mitigation measures
  • Conducts performance management reviews for staff
  • Creates, reviews, and revises clinic policies and procedures in accordance with division policy
  • Acts as a lead in incident command and participates in emergency preparedness planning and activities
