About The Position

Manages a comprehensive district nursing program, typically through supervision of Registered Nurse Managers I. Responsibilities include developing external funding sources; managing FTEs, and budget; developing private and public partnerships; and developing and implementing long term staff development plans. Recruits staff, procures and administers grants, conducts community needs assessment, allocates resources, monitors quality assurance of service delivery, and serves as district management team member. Requires licensure as a RN by state code. The Prince William Health District is a growing, diverse, and dynamic community in Northern Virginia located approximately 30 miles from Washington, D.C. Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of nursing management, public health nursing, and practices of public health
  • Proven ability to provide effective leadership and operations management
  • Ability to direct subordinate nurse managers and supervisors in achieving agency objectives
  • Excellent skills in oral and written communication, community assessment, planning, and staff development
  • Considerable ability to collaboratively lead staff, synthesize and interpret data, and communicate effectively with staff, patients, and the public
  • Ability to monitor and evaluate quality assurance of nursing programs
  • Ability to present results and nursing outcomes to internal and external constituencies
  • Requires licensure as a RN by state code.

Nice To Haves

  • Nursing and senior-level administrative and supervisory experience in public health
  • Experience with the Incident Command System (ICS)
