About The Position

This position provides technical and professional services in the Immunization Operations Section. The role involves managing, planning, and implementing project activities, specifically focusing on the Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG). The Project Manager will be responsible for the initiation, planning, execution, control, and closeout phases of the PHIG. This includes defining and prioritizing project requirements, implementing work plans, and ensuring project deliverables and milestones are met. The role requires strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal program leads, data modernization teams, and other stakeholders, as well as organizational leaders. Data modernization and data quality improvement activities are also part of the responsibilities. The position does not supervise other staff.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and relevant project management experience.
  • Experience in managing, planning and implementing project activities.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, policies and procedures relevant to the Immunization Operations Section.
  • Ability to exercise judgement and discretion.
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and professional presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in public health, law, public policy, epidemiology, or health promotion & education.
  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience in project implementation and management in the areas of health registry or health informatics.
  • Certified in Project Management or Project Management Professional (PMP).

Responsibilities

  • Provides technical and professional services in Immunization Operations Section.
  • Manages and directs the initiation, planning, execution, control, and closeout phases of the Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG) under Immunization Operations Section.
  • Defines and prioritizes project requirements and implements work plan(s), scopes and schedule to ensure project deliverables, milestones and required tasks completed as planned.
  • Communicates effectively with internal and external partners, including organizational leaders.
  • Works collaboratively with internal program leads including IIS, data modernizing team, and relevant other stakeholders.
  • Gives, receives, and analyzes information, formulates work plans, prepares written materials, and articulates goals and action plans.
  • Performs data modernization and data quality improvement activities as assigned.
  • Prepares necessary documentation (i.e., needs analysis) to support project initiatives in the Immunization Operations Section.
