Dinsmore is seeking a Public Finance Analyst at our Denver, CO or Washington, DC location who will support attorneys and clients in municipal bond transactions, infrastructure financing, economic development projects, and other public finance matters. This role involves financial analysis, document review, transaction support, regulatory research, and coordination with underwriters, issuers, financial advisors, and government entities. The analyst works closely with attorneys on tax-exempt and taxable bond offerings, helping ensure transactions are completed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Public Administration, Business or related field
  • 1–4 years of relevant experience in public finance, municipal advisory, investment banking, government finance or law firm transactional support
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Experience with financial modeling, data analysis, project management and deadline coordination
  • Ability to professionally communicate with public officials and clients
  • Ability to manage confidential information, problem-solve and think critically
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced transactional environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with public finance transactions, including general obligation bonds, revenue bonds, tax increment financing (TIF), special assessment districts, infrastructure and economic development financing, lease-purchase and public-private partnership (P3) transactions
  • Review and analyze financial statements, bond documents, official statements, continuing disclosure filings and debt service schedules
  • Prepare and maintain transaction checklists, financing summaries, closing binders, due diligence materials and internal tracking reports
  • Conduct legal and financial research related to Municipal securities regulations, SEC and MSRB requirements, tax-exempt financing rules and state and local government finance statutes
  • Assist in drafting and proofreading financing documents and presentations
  • Support closing processes and manage deadlines for multiple concurrent transactions
  • Analyze market trends and public finance data to support client advisory work
