About The Position

As a member of the Public Records team, you will perform complex, specialized, and technical eDiscovery work in support of the County’s eDiscovery and records management processes. Due to the nature of this work, you’ll collaborate frequently with IT and other teams. You will research, analyze, and locate digital and hard-copy records in response to public records requests, including conducting defensible searches of electronically stored information (ESI) related to public records requests and litigation holds. Your work will play an important role in supporting public transparency and helping the community understand the work Pierce County does. The Finance & Enterprise Services Department delivers enterprise-wide services that support every County department and many external partners, ensuring Pierce County operates effectively, efficiently, and with strong public stewardship. Finance & Enterprise Services staff provide a broad portfolio of high-impact, countywide services, including budgeting and performance management, fiscal services, procurement and contracting, information technology, general services, fleet services, and risk management. Requirements

• Six years of related experience, to include two years of public records work in a government agency or legal setting.
• Post-secondary education may substitute for up to four years of the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship.

• Effectively manage competing priorities, evaluate risks, and apply the Washington State Public Records Act and related laws to guide countywide records searches.
• Understanding of quickly developing technologies in this field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the review and processing of Public Records Requests and other requests for County records, including complex and sensitive requests requiring a high degree of discretion and confidentiality.
• Discover, locate, search, process and produce records, including Electronically Stored Information (ESI).
• Support the use of technology for Public Disclosure related functions, including searches, holds, preservation, exemptions, transfers, and production.
• Perform data searches using various eDiscovery tools.
• Prepare data for review by department Public Records Officers.
• Ensure timely, adequate, and organized responses in accordance with applicable regulations.
