About The Position

As a Public Area Attendant, you will be responsible for maintaining a clean and attractive public area appearance while providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to all guests.

Requirements

Understand the mission, vision, and goals of the hotel
Must be able to prioritize and work efficiently with limited supervision
Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task efficiently
Must be able to speak, understand, and communicate the primary language(s) used in the workplace
Must possess excellent communication, follow-up, and organization
Must have the ability to push, pull bend, squat, and lift regularly
Use of PPE as needed for duty assigned and with the use of required tools and equipment
Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy; prioritize, organize, and follow up
Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment
Follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest’s service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
Prior experience in a similar role.
Will be required to work flexible scheduled shifts based on business needs.
Must be able to work at both the Aloft and Fairfield Inn & Suites in Downtown Savannah, GA.
Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds
Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff, vendors, and guests a normal in-person and phone conversation
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
Ability to bend and twist, push and pull, stoop, and kneel

Nice To Haves

Hotel experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintains supply levels in the public areas, toilet paper, and Kleenex.
Maintains and cleans all public washrooms, checking twice each hour.
Makes routine checks of all public areas to ensure cleanliness.
Empties ash urns.
Dust all tables, lamps, and ledges in all public areas and corridors.
Maintains the cleanliness of all windows, glass, and doors in public areas.
Checks guest elevators, clean carpets, and polishes metals as necessary.
Maintains elevator tracks.
Performs cleaning tasks in public areas, including vacuuming, sweeping, moping, and collecting garbage.
Assists guests and other staff members as needed.
