About The Position

Deschutes Brewery, a well-established craft brewery, is seeking a full-time Pub Manager for its Portland Public House. This leadership role oversees all aspects of the dining room and bar, focusing on leading and coaching Front of House (FOH) staff. While primarily FOH focused, the position also requires strong communication and collaboration with the Back of House (BOH) team. Key responsibilities include managing a profit center, ensuring high-quality service and products, staff training, hands-on floor management, and administrative duties. The ultimate goal is to deliver exceptional experiences for guests.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
At least 2 years of progressive leadership experience working in a high-volume restaurant environment.
Microsoft Office or similar experience required.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience with financial management preferred.
Experience planning and executing private events preferred.

Responsibilities

Hands-on floor management, actively participating in floor operations and understanding shift requirements.
Ensuring quality product and service by establishing expectations for FOH staff to create loyal customers.
Financial accountability, including understanding financial statements, inventory, and month-end processes.
Active communication and promotion of communication with co-owners across the company.
Responsibility for training and development program adherence for the FOH department.
Maintaining an open-door policy and being approachable to all co-owners.
Effective coaching and leadership aligned with company goals, culture, and values.
Making effective decisions under pressure and prioritizing tasks.
Complying with and promoting safe work practices, policies, and procedures.
