The Publix Technology Services (PTS) position will provide IT technical support for corporate locations in the Lakeland, FL area to primarily include installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of IT hardware in corporate support locations. Requirements

  • Candidate must live in the Lakeland, FL area, or surrounding area, or must be willing to relocate there upon acceptance of the position
  • Associate degree in information technology or equivalent experience
  • 1+ year of PC/Technical support experience
  • Understanding of IT hardware and industry standards
  • Understanding of Windows Operating Systems
  • Understanding of MS Office 365 and associated applications
  • Understanding of thermal and laser printing
  • Understanding of Active Directory
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Cable management and troubleshooting skills
  • Computer and electronic equipment installation skills
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a valid driver license and maintain an excellent driving record
  • Ability and willingness to be on call, work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Ability to lift to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to climb and work on a ladder
  • Ability to crouch, kneel and work in confined areas for extended periods
  • Ability to use hand and power tools

Nice To Haves

  • Certifications in the field of electronics or Computer Science, such as Cisco Certification, A+ Certification, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, HP Certification, or Lexmark Certification
  • 3+ years of PC/Technical support experience
  • Experience using problem reporting and ticketing systems
  • Understanding of the Publix corporate environment
  • Experience supporting Active Directory
  • Experience using SAP

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, repair, and preventive maintenance of IT hardware including: Desktop computers, Servers, Laser and thermal printers, Point of sale systems, Barcode scanners, Weighing devices, Networking systems
  • Support Publix corporate locations through on-site visits
  • Travel between locations to perform technical tasks
  • Work a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, with occasional night and weekend work, as needed
  • Augment support in other geographic areas when required
