About The Position

This role involves working directly with a Preschool Teacher to deliver engaging, age-appropriate preschool programs that foster children’s social, emotional, physical, and academic growth. The aide will assist in classroom preparations, including organizing materials and activities, setting up play areas and workstations, and ensuring the facility is clean. Responsibilities also include cleaning and disinfecting surfaces, managing classroom behavior, performing first aid, supervising children, and attending meetings and training sessions. The position may also require performing other duties as directed by supervisors.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Six months paid or volunteer experience in preschool and/or child care programs.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain within one month of hire, Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid.
  • A combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of six units of Early Childhood Education (ECE) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Works directly with the Preschool Teacher to deliver engaging, age-appropriate preschool programs that foster children’s social, emotional, physical, and academic growth.
  • Assists in classroom preparations, including organizing materials and activities, setting up play areas and workstations, and ensuring the facility is clean.
  • Cleans and disinfects frequently touched surfaces and materials.
  • Organizes and prioritizes tasks, ensuring timely follow-up on assignments, projects, or requests from the Preschool Teacher.
  • Greets patrons and participants in a friendly and professional manner; answers inquiries regarding preschool program.
  • Maintains accurate records of various forms, logs, and reports.
  • Addresses behavior concerns in the classroom, when necessary, guides children toward appropriate behavior, and escalates any concerns to the Preschool Teacher or other Primetime Preschool supervisory staff.
  • Performs first aid and emergency response; reports incidents and accidents.
  • Supervises and leads children while maintaining an appropriate staff-to-child ratio.
  • Attends meetings and training sessions.
  • Performs other duties, as directed by Recreation and Community Services Supervisor, Coordinator, and/or Preschool Teacher.
