About The Position

FlexTrades offers travel contract assignments for skilled manufacturing professionals across the US. This is a 6-month assignment located in Neenah, WI, for a PTH-Wave Solder Machine Operator. The role involves operating wave solder and selective solder machines for plated through-hole board soldering. Operators are expected to be trained on similar equipment and able to test out of internal training. Responsibilities include machine operation, setup, monitoring, basic maintenance, and manual component insertion (stuffing) before boards enter the machinery. The assignment also includes hotel, travel pay, overtime, and $45 per diem.

Requirements

Trained on similar equipment and able to test out of Plexus’ internal training.
Experience with similar wave solder or selective solder equipment is acceptable.
Ability to perform manual component insertion, or “stuffing,” before boards enter the machine.
Prepared to do the “stuffing” whenever needed and rotate with others to operate the machinery itself.

Nice To Haves

Experience with the same brands of machine (Electrovert EC4 and EC3 wave solder machines and Ersa Versaflow 366 and 4XL selective solder machines) is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Operating wave solder and selective solder machines for plated through hole board soldering.
Performing setups, loading the correct recipe/program, confirming machine settings, and setting in-feed conveyor speed.
Monitoring boards as they move through the equipment and watching for alarms or abnormal machine conditions.
Maintaining solder pot/fluxer areas, checking flux levels, and topping off flux/solvent as needed.
Completing basic shift maintenance.
Performing manual component insertion, or “stuffing,” before boards enter the machine, following Assembly Build Instructions.
Escalating settings, alarms, defects, or machine issues to FTE Technicians, Engineering, or Quality members.
