About The Position

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced PTA - Long Term Care (LTC) for a 13-week travel assignment in Newton, TX. This position involves working with patients in a long-term care setting, focusing on helping them regain movement, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life through therapeutic exercises and techniques. The role requires close collaboration with Physical Therapists and providing support to patients and their families.

Requirements

Must have at least 2 years PTA experience
Must have PTA license Texas State License or Compact Allowed
Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification during employment
Effective team skills including interaction, support, and respect are required.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and reliability
Ability to learn and apply basic computer skills including locating and opening documents, completing forms, opening and sending e-mail messages.
Drug screen and background check (facility required)

Responsibilities

Counsel patients and their families on what to do following treatment.
Observe the patients they are working with before, during and after therapy and report notes to the Physical Therapist.
Assign specific exercises for the patient and help the patients do these exercises.
Use devices, such as walkers, and other equipment to help patients regain movement and reduce pain.
Use a variety of techniques, including stretching exercises and massage, to treat patients.
Assist patients when moving to and from the therapy area.
