About The Position

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced PTA - Long Term Care (LTC) for a 13-week travel assignment in Haskell, TX. This position involves treating patients through exercise, massage, gait and balance training, and other therapeutic interventions under the direction and supervision of physical therapists. The role includes recording patient progress, reporting treatment results, counseling patients and families, observing patients during therapy, assigning and assisting with exercises, using therapeutic devices and equipment, and assisting patients with mobility.

Requirements

Must have at least 2 years PTA experience
Must have PTA license
Texas State License or Compact Allowed
Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification during employment
Effective team skills including interaction, support, and respect are required.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and reliability
Ability to learn and apply basic computer skills including locating and opening documents, completing forms, opening and sending e-mail messages.
Drug screen and background check (facility required)

Responsibilities

Counsel patients and their families on what to do following treatment.
Observe the patients they are working with before, during and after therapy and report notes to the Physical Therapist.
Assign specific exercises for the patient and help the patients do these exercises.
Use devices, such as walkers, and other equipment to help patients regain movement and reduce pain.
Use a variety of techniques, including stretching exercises and massage, to treat patients.
Assist patients when moving to and from the therapy area.
