About The Position

The PT Merchandise Associate is responsible for delivering a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers, following customer experience principles, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The associate follows operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards and may be cross-trained in multiple store areas to support business needs. The role includes customer service, ringing purchases and returns, promoting credit and loyalty programs, processing and preparing merchandise for the sales floor, maintaining merchandising standards, and supporting store recovery, cleanliness, safety, and shrink-reduction efforts. The associate contributes to a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect, and provides and accepts recognition and constructive feedback. The position is at TJ Maxx Store 0317, 2700 Potomac Mills Circle, Woodbridge, Virginia. Starting pay is USD $14.50 to $15.00 per hour; actual starting pay depends on factors including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver a highly satisfying customer experience by engaging and interacting with customers and following customer experience principles.
Role-model customer experience practices with internal and external customers.

Accurately ring customer purchases and returns and count change according to operating procedures.
Promote credit and loyalty programs.
Maintain the merchandising philosophy and follow established merchandising procedures and standards.
Accurately process and prepare merchandise for the sales floor according to company procedures and standards.
Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
Maintain organizational, cleanliness, and recovery standards for the sales floor and participate in maintaining the entire store.
Follow operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards.
Support and participate in store shrink-reduction goals and programs.
Participate in safety awareness and maintain a safe environment.
Adhere to labor laws, policies, and procedures.
Provide and accept recognition and constructive feedback.
Perform other duties as assigned.
May be cross-trained to work in multiple store areas to support business needs.
