Requirements

  • Associate’s degree (Bachelor’s degree preferred; experience may be accepted in lieu of education).
  • 3 years of experience in training, teaching, or classroom facilitation.
  • Certification or licensure within the field from a nationally recognized organization or State agency as pertinent to the field of instruction.
  • Maintain current certification/license during employment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with multiple constituencies.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Word, PPT, and email.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance coverage and be able to travel as needed if driving a vehicle during company business.
  • Current LVN license with at least one year of experience in a long-term care (LTC) facility.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in EKG and Phlebotomy is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Teach approved curriculum to students in a Goodwill Career Training Program, ensuring all core competencies are covered.
  • Prepare students to pass professional exams and obtain employment in their field of study.
  • Master group facilitation techniques and present program-specific courses following an established syllabus and lesson plan.
  • Use motivation techniques to stimulate personal interest in the subject matter and establish clear learning objectives.
  • Modify and implement lesson plans to best support preparation for subsequent certification exams.
  • Be punctual and dependable, preparing material and classroom in advance while maintaining safety and cleanliness.
  • Utilize flexible and creative approaches to meet student needs, discourage withdrawal, and maintain retention goals.
  • Submit required daily attendance, grades, progress reports, and competencies on a regular schedule.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students and colleagues regarding student progress and needs.
  • Collaborate with Leadership and support to meet academic and career needs for all students.
  • Assign and grade class work, homework, tests, and activities in a timely fashion, providing education and feedback to students.
  • Serve as a community resource person and represent the school to outside groups when requested.
  • Strive to improve instruction and engage in activities demonstrating academic, professional, and/or technical aptitude, remaining current within the specific instruction field.
  • Coordinate with appropriate staff to ensure the classroom is equipped and stocked with necessary instructional supplies and materials.
  • Coordinate with appropriate staff to ensure students are registered for the corresponding program certification exam.
  • Respond to student information requests from sponsors, Leadership, and Goodwill Mission Services staff.
  • Maintain a regular schedule for student conferences and tutoring.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary policies.
  • Maintain student information and files in accordance with agency and/or other outside entities associated with credentialing and/or licensing of courses taught.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership to accommodate business needs and objectives.
