About The Position

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all assigned areas. The role performs janitorial and hazardous-waste duties, operates motorized cleaning equipment, maintains assigned areas, and supports safe, professional service. It has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

No specific education requirement.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and safely.
Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, including equipment upkeep and care.
Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals and their safe, efficient use.
Complete all safety and task-training certification.
A valid driver's license may be required based on business needs; employees who drive must maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and meet company driving eligibility requirements.
May be required to be forklift certified.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Nice To Haves

Three to six months of training or experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bilingual ability.

Responsibilities

Perform janitorial duties and all duties listed on the daily schedule.
Collect, classify, sort, store, ship and receive, label, clean, recycle, and package special and hazardous waste.
Operate motorized cleaning equipment and maintain the daily upkeep of the assigned area.
Report incidents and hazardous conditions to a supervisor.
Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures; stop at-risk behavior by oneself and others; and use proper personal protective equipment.
Work with other employees, perform repetitive tasks, and maintain a clean work area.
Follow protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules; take direction and respond to supervision.
Communicate professionally with leads, supervisors, coworkers, managers, and customers.
Fill in during staff shortages and support the shift lead in completing punch-list items.
Present a professional appearance and conduct, and understand customer service, satisfaction, reporting systems, and the work environment.
