About The Position

Saskatoon Co-op is seeking a part-time Courtesy Clerk for its Martensville Food #285 location. This role reports to the Food Manager and is responsible for assisting in maintaining high standards of customer relations and service, efficiently packing grocery orders, and providing courteous car service. The position also involves performing housekeeping duties, managing grocery carts, supporting checkout operations, preventing merchandise loss, and maintaining product knowledge. The ideal candidate will be strongly service-oriented, physically capable of performing duties, and willing to participate in training.

Requirements

Must be strongly service-oriented and motivated.
Must be capable of assisting customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
Must be physically capable of completing the required duties.
Must be able to improve knowledge and ability by attending and participating in assigned training sessions.
Must be able to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

Assist in maintaining high standards of customer relations and service.
Pack grocery orders efficiently, according to company expectations.
Provide efficient and courteous car service as required.
Perform housekeeping duties, including cleaning up breakages and spills, keeping the checkout area free of paper and debris, cleaning shelves, bins and displays as needed, and keeping aisles free of debris, clean and orderly.
Return grocery carts to the store and remove any damaged carts.
Assist in the efficient operation of the checkout by replenishing supplies, obtaining change for cashiers, and verifying prices on goods for cashiers.
Maintain a constant alert against the unauthorized removal of merchandise.
Be familiar with all goods and services provided in the unit.
Attend and participate in training courses as directed by the supervisor.
Handle bottle returns as directed.
Improve product knowledge and salesmanship through attendance and participation at training courses, as directed by the supervisor.
