This position is responsible for all mail functions required by Midland College. Essential Functions Under the supervision of the mailroom clerk and when needed Pick up mail from the post office on a daily basis, as needed, including periods of campus closure (extended holidays and spring break) Pick up and deliver interdepartmental and first-class mail to all Midland College locations Responsible for applying correct postage to all outgoing mail and adherence to time schedules for pickup of mail by mail service Process and transport bulk mail to the post office Responsible for hand delivery of packets to both Midland College and Midland College Foundation board members Report monthly to the accounting department, balances for prepaid postage, business reply, and bulk mail accounts. See that balances are replenished in a timely, when necessary Guide all college inquiries concerning postage questions Assist accounting office with clerical duties Other duties as assigned Physical Demands Must be able to remain in a stationary position 25% of the time Ability to stand for extended periods of time The person in this position needs to frequently move or drive to other locations on and off-campus Stamina to pick up and deliver mail to both main and off-campus locations Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation Use of manual dexterity The person in this position frequently communicates with others verbally and electronically; must be able to exchange accurate information Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus Frequently moves and lifts mail or boxes weighing up to 50 pounds Duties indoors and outdoors
