About The Position

The Psychometrist administers, scores, and reports results from a large number of age-appropriate neuropsychological tests for patients with a wide range of known or suspected neurologic conditions. The role also involves recording detailed observations of patient performance during testing sessions and coordinating with the neuropsychology team to support accurate interpretation of results.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field.
• Educational training sufficient to understand neuropsychology clinical terminology.

Nice To Haves

• Demonstrated experience with neuropsychological behavioral assessments and test batteries.
• Course work in psychological tests and measurement.

Responsibilities

• Accurately record patient responses and testing times, and score tests while documenting observations of patient performance.
• Remain aware of patient deficits and, whenever possible, select tests of other abilities so irrelevant deficits do not interfere with performance.
• Help patients give their best performance by adapting the testing approach to their needs, particularly when patients are extremely impaired or disturbed.
• Maintain record-keeping and data-retrieval systems associated with test batteries.
• Screen neuropsychology patients for behavioral and cognitive impairments using standardized testing batteries.
• Communicate and coordinate with neuropsychology team members regarding each case, including scores and other information needed for accurate interpretation by the neuropsychologist.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
