About The Position

Bestica is seeking a Psychology Research Subject Matter Expert to provide services at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, OH. This role involves expanding consultation and research capabilities to improve the assessment, monitoring, training, and treatment of airmen in high-risk, high-demand career fields. The effort addresses concerns regarding psychological functioning related to operational health and performance, focusing on aero-medically relevant issues and performance enhancement interventions for various USAF duty positions. The position will assist in data collection, analysis, report writing, and management of research studies, producing military and academic presentations, journal articles, technical reports, and educational materials. Services include scientific research design, literature reviews, database management, statistical analysis, results discussion, and report/presentation composition. The contractor will interface with USAFSAM/FESP Aeromedical staff, 711th Human Performance Wing staff, and relevant MAJCOM/HQ staff.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a master’s degree specializing in Research Psychology, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or a related Psychology discipline.
  • Expert knowledge with at least 5 years of experience in database development, gathering and organizing data supporting analyses for a wide range of analytical procedures.
  • At least 5 years of experience in research report writing and developing actionable recommendations for improving human performance based on research.
  • At least 5 years of experience designing and conducting statistical data analysis using software such as JMP, SPSS, R, etc.
  • At least 5 years of experience with developing products presenting research outcomes (e.g., statistical results and interpretations), to include professional presentations, peer-reviewed publications, and/or technical reports.
  • At least 5 years of experience engaged in administrative management with regard to study design, methodology, and dissemination of results regarding empirically based human performance research studies.
  • A signed Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) in place with their company.

Nice To Haves

  • A doctoral degree (or Master’s degree plus 7+ years of relevant experience) specializing in Research Psychology, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or a related Psychology discipline.
  • Experience with human performance and behavioral science research within the Department of War (DoW).
  • Experience developing and administering comprehensive, validated psychological instruments via mobile and web-based capabilities.
  • Experience as an author of publications in peer-reviewed journals or official USAF/DoW technical reports in behavioral science with regards to human performance and behavioral science research.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and execution of a comprehensive study protocol, including hypothesis, methodologies, collection strategies, and statistical analysis.
  • Provide customer leadership with relevant scientific literature reviews and data analyses, participating in related discussions.
  • Confer with and advise professional staff regarding optimal statistical approaches to analyze study data.
  • Perform statistical analyses of study data using descriptive and inferential statistical procedures.
  • Minimize threats to the validity of statistical products or online data repositories and maintain data securely.
  • Maintain confidentiality of screening data, technical reports, and sensitive presentation data.
  • Complete appropriate IRB paperwork and training requirements.
  • Prepare reports of scientific/statistical results for publication in coordination with relevant staff.
  • Travel as needed to provide professional support, consultations, and research presentations.
  • Maintain communications with project personnel to facilitate teamwork and adhere to confidentiality requirements.
  • Manage data, including acquisition, input, maintenance, electronic format products, and storage.
  • Assist staff in collecting assessment data and maintaining the project database.
  • Provide project operations support for research activities and data acquisition.
  • Arrange, facilitate discussions, and participate in research team meetings, including leading a weekly meeting.
  • Support additional USAFSAM/FESP related investigations if there is an unexpected interruption or reduction in workload.
