About The Position

The Intern-Clinical Psych (PhD) is a one-year training position as part of a doctoral program in Clinical Psychology. The intern works under the supervision of a licensed clinical psychologist and assists clients and their families through counseling, psychotherapy, and doctoral-level psychological evaluations. The position is also responsible for coordinating student counseling programs and performing other duties as needed.

Requirements

• Master's degree required.
• Completion of a doctoral program in clinical psychology required.
• At least one year of experience in a mental health setting required.
• PhD license eligible.
• Valid driver's license at time of hire.
• Able to read, write legibly, and speak English with professional quality.
• Able to use the computer and software programs necessary for the position.
• Able to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment.
• Able to communicate positively, effectively, and professionally; follow or enforce policies consistently; remain calm and courteous under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction; perform basic math; manage multiple assignments; problem-solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information accurately; and pay close attention to detail.
• Able to distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care; hear general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify sounds associated with the workplace and patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and documents; and discern temperature variances through touch.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients and their families through counseling and psychotherapy.
• Conduct psychological evaluations at a doctoral level.
• Coordinate student counseling programs.
• Perform other duties as needed.
