About The Position
The Postdoctoral Fellow uses training in structural biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology to design and conduct experiments for an NIH-sponsored research project in the laboratory. The role involves developing and testing scientific hypotheses, carrying out research procedures, analyzing experimental results, and preparing research communications for the principal investigator and for local and national meetings. The position also interacts with coworkers, visitors, and other staff in keeping with Jefferson’s iSCORE values.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in structural biology and molecular biology.

Responsibilities
- Collect and assemble data for oral and written presentations.
- Independently develop scientific hypotheses related to ongoing laboratory work.
- Independently design experiments to test hypotheses.
- Independently carry out or delegate experimental procedures.
- Independently analyze experimental results.
- Prepare oral and written reports for the principal investigator, including abstracts, manuscripts, grant proposals, grant data reports, and slide presentations for local and national meetings.
- Perform routine and more difficult procedures, analyze data, and present results through presentations, abstracts, manuscripts, and materials supporting grant writing, preparation, and submission.
- Interact with coworkers, visitors, and other staff consistent with Jefferson’s iSCORE values.
